Bandai Namco has called Project CARS 2 “the next evolution in the award-winning racing series” with the promise of featuring some of the most iconic cars and tracks from the world of motor racing to provide the “ultimate driver journey” experience.

While it sounds exciting, has developer Slightly Mad Studios delivered on the bold claim? We’ve spent some time playing Project CARS 2 ahead of its release tomorrow, and here’s what we think.

Star Wars Battlefront II is out on 17 November, and as is typical for a AAA game release these days, there are both multiple versions of Star Wars Battlefront II available, and bonus content for anyone who pre-orders the game.

The pre-order bonus is tied to the upcoming film The Last Jedi, and includes alternate outfits and additional abilities for Kylo Ren and Rey, presumably based on what they get up to in Episode VIII. Anyone who pre-orders can get The Last Jedi Heroes, but it's not clear yet if it will also be able to buy after the game is out later this year.

As for different versions, you can pre-order the base game for £54.99 on console or £49.99 on PC from Game in the UK, or $59.99 for any platform from Best Buy in the US.

If you don't mind spending a bit more, the Trooper Deluxe Edition includes the Elite Officer, Heavy Metal, Armored Assault, and Master Specialist upgrade packs, which include new weapon modifications and epic abilities. It will also let you play the game as much as three days early.

Hi all,

I have a Sata Bluray drive for a desktop computer that I want to connect to my laptop via USB3. Can I simply buy some sort of Sata to USB adapter and be done with it? I'm assuming the DVD drive needs extra power so maybe I'd have to buy something that has external power?

My laptop also has an eSata port if that makes things easier.

Hi there,

"If you are looking for quality sound, again a desktop computer wins out over a laptop computer. Even if you purchase extra speakers for a laptop, the quality of sound produced from such computers is no where near as good as the sound produced from desktop computers. In fact, the sound from a laptop computer is not even remotely close to the sound quality that is emitted from a desktop computer."

My question is WHY (what factors) is the sound quality of the laptop so inferior to that of the desktop computer, i.e. is it strictly a hardware problem or are there software issues also involved.

Hi there,

So if anyone remembers my cat peed on my computer thread I am wondering about the CPU, if it survived. I took it out and looks like it never got "contaminated" but I don't know if it was shorted out or whatever. Its an intel core 2 duo e8400. Hard to buy a MB to find out it's bad and I don't have anyway else to check it. I also have a phenom II 3.O that needs a AM3+ MB.

So my question is assuming the intel chip is working as wondering what would be the better chip for general computer use.

Hi all,

Strange problem. System specs below. I have a TV connected via HDMI or DP.

Initially the display was rock solid. The problem is now the screen randomly stops displaying Windows desktop and shows a message about No Signal. The problem occurs using either video port, mini-HDMI or DP. To me this means the vid chip stopped putting out a signal.

The application running is Blue Iris network camera display. The app is running full screen.

Intel NUC i5-4250U
16 gb ram
Silicon Power SSD
Samsung EVO mSATA SSD
Win 7 Pro 64 bit
Intel HD Graphics 5000 mini HDMI and mini DP
Insignia 40" TV
